First ambulance ride
Baby Brother had a febrile seizure yesterday, otherwise known as a fit caused by a rapidly rising temperature. One minute he was showing his absolute dedication to his love of football even when a bit feverish and under the weather, and the next he was lifeless and floppy and totally unresponsive. A man who works in Halfords and a first-aider who appeared out of nowhere as I ran about shouting for someone to call an ambulance were completely the saviours of the hour. Dada was an absolute rock, holding our little pup while talking rational sense to the emergency services on the phone while I just struggled to breathe and cried alot. Big Brother was an absolute legend and showed himself to be unflappable in a crisis.
He's had a clean bill of health and is back to his deliciously naughty self. I spent the night on a hard chair in a hospital room surrounded by evil nurses without so much as a glass of water or a cup of tea, and every hour felt like a day but I am so thankful for my kids' health that I can barely talk straight. We don't know how lucky we / they are. I haven't slept and think I aged ten years in as many minutes but my little men are healthy and happy and I will never take that for granted again.

What was the fever from? Flu?
ah thanks everyone. he just has a bit of a viral infection - sore throat etc - which actually isn't bothering him too much but that pesky old temperature is the thing. i'm actually not too worried about him having another one - at least if he does i'll know not to assume he's dying in my arms ... :( and besides he was back to bouncing on my head at 5am today despite me having had NO sleep - relentless, i think it'll take more than this to keep him down for long!!
There's not many things that are worse than sitting in a hospital with a sick child - I'm glad you're all recovering!
